MHS – Coaching Milestone for “Mulvi”

Last May, we celebrated the 100th career hit of now graduated MHS Girls Softball player, Caroline Muccifori…a milestone she acknowledged was achieved in great part through the fine tutelage and support of her coach. Now, that coach has reached a milestone of his own…on another playing field…that is worthy of celebration.

MHS Physical Education and Health teacher, Mr. Bill Mulvihill, recently reached the lofty goal few high school coaches attain…his 300th win as head coach of the MHS Girls Soccer team.

Mr. Mulvihill (“Mulvi”) started coaching at Moorestown High School in 1997…with his soccer teams amassing an amazing 72% outright winning percentage over his 20-year career. An impressive record and legacy to be sure, though for both of which the humble “Mulvi” is quick to deflect credit. Says Mulvihill, “Reaching this milestone has nothing to do with me but the incredible young ladies I was fortunate enough to coach.  They had to buy into my philosophy or none of this would have been possible.  I have also been fortunate to have great assistant coaches through the years.  The players were surprised when [my 300th win] was announced because I did not want focus on 300.  Getting thefirst win of the 2017 season was much more significant in the growth of this year’s squad.”

We congratulate Mr. Mulvihill for his achievement and excellence…and wish for him and his MHS Girls Soccer team many more victories to come.
